Committees
The Solar Washington Board currently employs the following Standing and Ad Hoc committees to conduct the business of the Association:
Planning & Bylaws - Addresses questions about the bylaws, serves as nominating committee to identify and screen future Board members, and leads the annual organizational strategic planning effort. Chaired by Jake Wade. Current members include Mike Nelson and Tracy Farwell.
Finance & Fundraising - Works to secure funding for Solar WA, coordinates grantwriting efforts, develops the budget and generally oversees the finances of the Association. Chaired by Dave Kozin.
Policy & Regulation - Tracks and makes recommendations on Municipal, County and State and Federal legislation and administrative rules and regulations regarding solar in Washington. Chaired by Jeremy Smithson. Current members include Stanley Florek, Joe Deets and Linda Irvine.
Education & Outreach - Coordinates educational initiatives, including bi-monthly meetings, seminars, conferences, participation in external events to promote the Association and demonstration projects. Chaired by Joe Deets . Members include Jim Avery, Tracy Farwell, and Reeves Clippard.
Solar Tour - Coordinates with ASES to conduct the annual and permanent Solar Tour efforts for Washington State. Co-Chaired by George Meyer & Dave Kozin. Members include Jim Avery, and Jeremy Harvey.
Operations - Coordinates logistical needs such as databases, project management workspaces, and website development. Chaired by Jim Avery. Members include Dave Kozin, Stanley Florek, and Jake Wade.
Membership - Manages efforts to increase membership and actively involve members in the Association. Chaired by Howard Lamb. Members include Dave Kozin, Stanley Florek, and Jake Wade.
